In early 2021, I reached out to Erin amidst a lockdown looking to host a virtual event for more than 40 executive women located across the country. We wanted to establish an informal network within the organization and create connection for these women, some who had never met. This was the first event of its kind for the group & for Erin. She meticulously worked through the preparation details to guide each guest. Wines & pairings were selected, boxes were packed and pre-event instructions provided for glasses & wine chilling. From the moment we learned to uncork our first bottle, Erin’s storytelling ability invited questions, shared information and perhaps most importantly brought smiles and laughter to our virtual group. Let’s just say I will always have a bar of dark chocolate, bag of salted potato chips and wedge of Brie in my house from now! Cheers to a fabulous event!
I have had the absolute pleasure of having Erin host 3 wine tasting events for me. Two for a Toronto bank corporate event and one for friends. Every one was fantastic! With the corporate events, we had some people who were super knowledgeable and some with very little knowledge. Erin appealed to them all – those who knew their stuff enjoyed having someone to talk to in more depth and those who didn’t found her engaging and helpful. The knowlegeable crew all told me that they learned more than they expected and the ones that weren’t felt more confident than they had before. For my social group, Erin did a bubbles tasting which was the most fun! We learned loads and had such an amazing experience. The pairing suggestions were amazing and I use them all the time now. I will never serve wine the same way after the experiences I have had with Erin and would have her host again any time!
I thought I knew a fair bit about wine until I took Erin’s courses. I expected ‘Wine Simplified’ would just be a review but I learned so much more. I couldn’t wait to dive deeper and thoroughly enjoyed the learning process. She opened my eyes to new wines and countries giving me a greater appreciation for wine. I also have a lot more knowledge ordering and talking about wine in a professional setting. I can take charge with the wine list when entertaining and choose appropriately. I highly recommend all she has to offer!
We have lots of events throughout the winter season, and this was definitely at the top as a favourite! Erin was so knowledgeable and so generously shared her expertise of wines around the world. She shared so much information about the wine industry and regional practices which really helped us zoom in on areas where agricultural practices created the best conditions. She shared practical, simple tips for choosing great wines. We all came away thinking how much we wished we had done this sooner!
